Terms of Service
Effective July 2026 · Last updated July 2026
The Markets Story publishes educational content, not personalized investment advice. Nothing in our lessons or materials constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. 1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and The Markets Story ("we", "us", "our"), owned by Pallavi and Shriyash Palsule from Pune, Maharashtra, India. They govern your access to and use of the website at themarketsstory.com, the video lessons and course materials we publish, and all related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction
- Not be a person with whom we are legally prohibited from doing business under Indian sanctions, anti-money-laundering, or export-control laws
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. The Service
The Markets Story is an educational service that teaches trading through video lessons and course materials. Depending on your account, you may receive access to:
- Free video lessons available with a free account
- The paid course — a library of video lessons and materials covering chart reading, technical indicators, risk management, and trading psychology — available after a one-time purchase
- Email support for technical and access-related questions
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may add to, modify, or improve the lessons and materials over time, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service, with reasonable notice for material changes.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for:
- Keeping access to your email account secure — because sign-in uses one-time links sent to your email, anyone with access to your inbox could sign in as you
- All activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorized by you
- Providing accurate information when creating your account
- Notifying us promptly at hello@themarketsstory.com of any suspected unauthorized access
One account per person. You may not share access to your account or transfer it to anyone else. To protect against account sharing, access may be limited to a small number of devices.
5. Purchases and access
5.1 Free lessons
Certain lessons are made available free of charge with a free account. We may change which lessons are free, or how many, at our discretion.
5.2 The paid course
The paid course is sold as a one-time purchase. It does not auto-renew and there is no recurring subscription charge — you are charged once, and access is granted to your account. Current pricing is shown on the site. Prices include all applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. We may change pricing at any time, but a change will not affect a purchase you have already completed. Course videos are streamed and are not available for download unless we expressly provide a download.
5.3 Payment
Payments are processed by PayPal (for payments in USD) and PayU (for payments in INR). The card, bank, or wallet details you enter are handled directly by these processors; we do not receive or store them. Access to the paid course is granted once the processor confirms your payment has succeeded.
5.4 Failed or reversed payments
If a payment fails, is reversed, or is charged back, we may suspend or revoke access to the paid course until the matter is resolved.
6. Refunds
Paid course purchases are non-refundable once access has been granted, because the full lesson library is delivered to you immediately. The narrow exceptions to this policy (billing errors and technical failures on our end), the treatment of EU/UK statutory withdrawal rights, and what to do if you believe you've been charged in error, are set out in our Refund Policy.
7. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
- Share, resell, or redistribute your account access, or any lessons, videos, or materials obtained via the Service
- Download, record, screen-capture, rip, or otherwise copy the video lessons except where we expressly provide a download
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to circumvent the video protection or access controls of the Service
- Use automated tools (scrapers, bots) to harvest content or data from the Service
- Use the Service to violate any law or regulation, including securities, anti-money-laundering, sanctions, or tax laws
- Misrepresent your identity or any other information you provide
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our infrastructure
Violation of these acceptable-use rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund, in addition to any legal remedies available to us.
8. Intellectual property
All content, video lessons, course materials, methodologies, documentation, design elements, logos, trademarks, and other materials made available through the Service are owned by The Markets Story or licensed to us, and are protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws.
Your account grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to view the lessons and use the materials for your own learning while your access is active. This license does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property and does not include any right to copy, distribute, publicly perform, modify, or create derivative works.
9. Disclaimers — IMPORTANT
9.1 Not investment advice; not a registered investment adviser or research analyst
The Markets Story is not a registered investment adviser under the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013, and not a registered research analyst under the SEBI (Research Analysts) Regulations, 2014. We do not provide personalized investment advice, portfolio management, trading signals, tips, or any service requiring such registration.
The lessons, materials, examples, and any other content provided through the Service are educational only. They are general-purpose and not tailored to your personal financial situation, investment objectives, risk tolerance, or tax position.
Nothing in the Service constitutes a recommendation, solicitation, offer, or invitation to buy, sell, or hold any security, derivative, currency, commodity, cryptocurrency, or any other financial instrument.
9.2 Trading involves substantial risk of loss
Trading in financial markets — including index futures and options, stocks, derivatives, currencies, and cryptocurrencies — carries a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. You can lose a substantial portion or all of your invested capital. Leveraged trading (futures, options, margin trading) amplifies both gains and losses and can result in losses exceeding your initial deposit.
9.3 Past performance does not guarantee future results
Any historical or back-tested performance data shown in our lessons, materials, or communications is based on past market conditions. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Live trading results may differ materially from back-tested or hypothetical examples due to factors including but not limited to slippage, fees, taxes, latency, market conditions, and execution differences.
9.4 You are solely responsible for your decisions
You are solely and entirely responsible for any trading or investment decisions you make. The Markets Story, its business owners, employees, and affiliates have no liability for any trading losses, missed opportunities, or other damages you may incur from acting (or not acting) on information obtained from the Service.
Before making any trading or investment decision, you should consult with a qualified financial adviser, tax adviser, or other professional registered or licensed in your jurisdiction (such as a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser in India), and conduct your own independent research.
9.5 Service availability
We provide the Service on a commercially reasonable best-effort basis but make no warranty of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or fitness for any particular purpose. Video playback may be delayed, interrupted, or unavailable from time to time due to factors beyond our control, including content-delivery network issues, your own network, or our own technical issues.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
- We disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
- In no event will The Markets Story, Pallavi and Shriyash Palsule, or any affiliate be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost trading gains, lost data, business interruption, or other intangible losses.
- Our aggregate liability for any direct damages arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the total amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or ₹10,000 (or USD 150 equivalent), whichever is lower.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, the limitations above apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Markets Story, Pallavi and Shriyash Palsule, and any affiliates, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service
- Your trading or investment decisions
- Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law
- Your violation of any third-party right
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if:
- You materially violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use rules
- Your payment fails, is reversed, or is charged back
- We are required by law or by a competent authority to do so
- We discontinue the Service generally (in which case we will provide reasonable notice and a fair refund or credit for course access purchased but not reasonably delivered, as set out in our Refund Policy)
Termination by us for cause does not entitle you to any refund. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, but the provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law, and Miscellaneous) will continue to apply.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes (e.g., changes to purchases, dispute resolution, or your fundamental rights), we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, where reasonably possible.
Continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those revised Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or the Service are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Subject to applicable consumer-protection laws that may give you mandatory rights in your country of residence, the courts at Pune, Maharashtra, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service. You and we both consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Before initiating legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at hello@themarketsstory.com with a clear description of the issue and to attempt good-faith resolution for at least 30 days.
15. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms or your account. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all our assets.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (acts of God, government action, network outages, etc.).
- Notices. We may give you notice via the email address on your account. You should send notice to us at hello@themarketsstory.com.
